In this article, we explain where to place iBeacon devices best to maximize their efficiency and accuracy in tracking work hours. Learn how the proper placement of these small but powerful devices can help improve work attendance management.

Placing a beacon

The best location is in the office, where employees most often spend their time working. It automatically detects them when they come to work. Depending on the device, the Bluetooth range of an iBeacon varies from 5m to 20m.

Important - the more iBecons in the office the better

Locating several iBeacons in the office is reasonable for extending the iBeacon scanning range. The best practice is to cover the whole office with the iBeacons range.

Notice - frequency of scanning

The frequency of Bluetooth scanning is set to a few seconds. It means your mobile phone receives a Bluetooth signal from the iBeacons device every few seconds.

Important! We recommend extending the iBeacons range if the device gives such a possibility.

How many iBeacons do I need?

One device per office/room is minimum. It is good to have 2-3 devices per room. The iBeacon device has an activity range up to 10m - the mobile app will connect with iBeacon if you stay in the area for more than 60 seconds.
