Placing a beacon
The best location is in the office, where the employees most often spend their time working. It catches them automatically when they come to work. The Bluetooth range of iBeacon varies from 5m to 20m depending on the device.
Important - the more iBecons in the office the better
It is good to locate several iBeacons in the office to extend the iBeacon scanning range. The best practice is to cover the whole office with the iBeacons range.
Notice - frequency of scanning
The frequency of Bluetooth scanning is set to a few seconds. It means that your mobile phone receives a Bluetooth signal from the iBeacons device every few seconds.
We recommend extending the iBeacons range if the device gives such a possibility.
How many iBeacons do I need?
One device per office/room is minimum. It is good to have 2-3 devices per room. The iBeacon device has an activity range up to 10m - the mobile app will connect with iBeacon if you stay in the area for more than 60 seconds.
