Who is a substitute in absence request and what benefits it gives?

Written by Kamil Wojewoda

Who is a substitute?

  • A substitute is a person who will take over the responsibilities of the employee during his absence. We've added an additional field to the time-off request and it allows you to select your colleague as the substitute.

How does substitution work?

  • You can only select a substitute who has no absence planned during the period when they are supposed to cover for you

  • With an additional restriction enabled, the substitute will not be able to request an absence during your absence period

  • If you are a manager, the substitute will be able to approve or reject requests during your absence. When your absence is over, all pending requests will revert back to your 'Approval' tab.

You can set a notification that you have been appointed as a deputy. In order to do that, click your avatar (bottom-left corner of the screen) → Notifications:

Visibility
